The Blue Mountains Bruce Trail Club has been running a very successful and active Trail Angel program for several years now. We are currently seeking to expand our roster of Trail Angel drivers. We are seeking volunteers interested in these roles.
What is a Trail Angel?
Trail Angels are volunteers who provide transportation to and from Bruce Trail access points for solo or small groups of hikers. Typically, the rides are for hikers who would like to cover longer distances but have only one car available, or for those who wish to start or end their hike at a location where parking is unavailable.
Why be a Trail Angel?
- Trail Angels support our hiking community, allowing more people to enjoy the trails within our section.
- The Trail Angel program is good for the environment, as it helps hikers only bring a single vehicle when coming from out of town.
- It is also a great way to meet like-minded hikers and share your knowledge of our wonderful section!
How does it work?
If you volunteer, you will be added to a distribution list of all Trail Angels in the Blue Mountains Bruce Trail Club and receive an email when someone requests a Trail Angel. Requests will always include the pickup date and time, pickup location, drop-off location, and the number of people requesting a ride. You only need to respond if you are available and interested in assisting with that particular request.
Participation is voluntary, and you choose when to offer a ride on a case-by-case basis, so it will always fit your schedule.
