Places to Visit on the BMBTC Trail: Mad River Side Trail: 4.1km out and back OR combine with main Trail to make an 8.6km loop

Description (for the 8.6 km loop): Hike south on Concession 8 from Station St to the Ganaraska Trail, which is co-located with the Mad River Side Trail. Stay on the blue-blazed Mad River Side Trail and turn right until the Ganaraska Trail joins the Main Trail at kilometre 26. Follow the Main Trail to kilometre 28.5, which joins the Mad River Side Trail. Take the Side Trail along the river back to Conc 8, Glen Huron. Please stay on the marked Trail.
Parking: Roadside parking in Glen Huron on Station Street. Do not block Hamilton Bros access to their buildings or the adjacent privately owned lot with No Parking signs.
Terrain: The Main Trail passes through a pine plantation [27.0 km] before heading to the top of a ski slope and turning right. Following the edge of a steep ski hill, then descending [27.7], the Trail turns at the chairlift platform located at the bottom of the hill [28.2]. Within 200 m, the Trail turns, approaching the vehicle access bridge across the Mad River, which leads to the private club’s parking lot. Devil’s Glen Country Club parking area and facilities are for the use of members only. Please do not use or ask to use these facilities, and please stay on the marked Trail.
Getting there: Travel south from Collingwood on County Rd 124, turn left at Concession 8 and left on Station St.
