Map 24 – Blue Mtns – Ed 31 Or the Bruce Trail App

Description: Flowerpots are stacks of rock left behind as wave action erodes the shoreline; many along the Bruce Trail were formed in the past 12,000 years when lake levels were higher.
Where to see the Flowerpots: Devil’s Monument (Peninsula, Map 40, km 109.3) Georgian Peaks / Loree Forest (Beaver Valley Section / Blue Mountains, Map 24, km 4.2)
Parking: Roadside parking on 21st Sideroad (see map above). Parking fee is charged for non the Blue Mountains residents.
Terrain: The Len Gertler Side Trail leaves the Main Trail at km 4.2 (where the flowerpot is located) and rejoins it at km 7.5. It provides a lovely walk through hardwood bush and along broad coniferous plantation paths. With the Main Trail, it creates a loop of 5.5 km and is popular in all seasons as its level terrain allows for both cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter. The Side Trail can be accessed via a 600 m dirt path from the roadside parking on 21st Sideroad.
Getting there: From Collingwood, follow Poplar Sideroad and Grey Country Rd 19 to 4 Line in Ravenna. Continue on 4 Line. Drive to Sideroad 21.
Nearby: On your way there or back, you may want to visit the Ravenna Country Market, 495972 Grey County Rd 2, Ravenna, ON N0H 2E0.
