BADGE DEVELOPER – Volunteer Job Description Blue Mountains Bruce Trail Club
Overview
The Bruce Trail Conservancy (BTC) is one of Ontario’s largest land trusts and the steward of Canada’s largest footpath. We actively preserve and care for land within the UNESCO-designated Niagara Escarpment Biosphere to protect its ecosystems for the benefit of all.
Volunteer Role Description
● Reports to the Hike Director ● Supports Badge Coordinator ● Responsible for ordering badges
● Fields queries about all badges from hikers ● Develop new badges to support BMBTC goals.
● Seeks feedback to develop ideas for new badges ● Designs or enlists help to design new badges
● Keeps online documentation current (badge and log section, online ordering information)
● Facilitates Hike Leaders’ requests to provide hikers with actual badges when finished badge accomplishment (Hike Leader responsible for ensuring hikers have
made the payment online, and provide a tracking list to Badge Developer.)
Optional:
● to accommodate hike leaders’ requests for badges at the end of long hikes.
– collect the number of badges required for hike leader from the Badge Coordinator
– provide the Badge Coordinator with names of hikers who paid online so that no mailing is necessary
– ensure proper tracking on the spreadsheet has been inputted
– ensure any extra badges have been returned to the Badge Coordinator
– have any cash picked up by the Treasurer (collection of cash strongly discouraged for accountability/ online etransfer payment requested)
